Denver has some cute events on its schedule this week. Start empowering at WorldDenver International Women’s Day and end it by raising funds and chewing on a National Pi Day Zoom Party. Wherever the week takes you, take a look at this recap of what’s happening in Denver.

Wednesday March 10th

Tattooed goods

The lowdown: Balefire Goods presents Tattooed Goods – a collection with local artist Alicia Hatfield. The collection includes a flash sheet of 20 different designs from Hatfield that you can tattoo on various items such as rings, decanters, water bottles and more with the help of Lauren Tuggle and Crown Trophy.

The Gin & Jazz series

The lowdown: Fireside at Five is back with The Gin & Jazz Series. The series features local musicians and ensembles who embody the historical culture “Harlem of the West”. This Wednesday you can play sweet pieces from the Rico Jones Trio.

American Regional: Rocky Mountain

The lowdown: Test your cooking skills with a cooking class from American Regional: Rocky Mountain. During the delicious evening you can prepare corn fritters, a rack of lamb with fried potatoes and a seasonal fruit cake.

The lowdown: The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is hosting a discussion on the film Blood Memory. The film examines the stories of survivors of the Indian Child Welfare Act as well as current political and legal issues. You can hear from a group of speakers including Chrissi Ross Nimmo, Brett Lee Shelton, and Mervyn L. Tano.

Thursday March 11th

Sushi rolling class

The lowdown: Make your own sushi at home with the help of an instructor from Denver Sushi House during a sushi rolling class. The ticket price includes all the ingredients for three types of sushi and a bottle of sake to enjoy with your meal.

Friday March 12th

Look at spaceballs

Saturday March 13th

Women in their infinite forms

The lowdown: Dairy Block and Denver Milk Market partner with Athena Project to showcase women in their infinite form. The exhibition features 11 local female artists who (where) turned mannequins into art that tells stories about female power and reinvention.

Pop Up Puppy Pub

The lowdown: Denver Union Station celebrates St. Patrick’s a little early with a pop-up puppy pub. You can dress in green and bring your furry friend to snag some St. Paddy’s Day specials in the plaza and raise funds for the Denver Animal Shelter. $ 1 will be donated for every item sold.

Detroit Day with Hops and Cakes

The lowdown: Hops & Pie Denver is serving up some hot slices on Detroit Day. Instead of just celebrating National Pi Day, celebrate Detroit Day all day long with Detroit-style pizzas and a brew to wash off.

The lowdown: John Hinman from Hinman’s Pie teams up with cake expert John Lehndorff for a National Pi Day Zoom Party. You can join in with a Square Pi package that contains three 6-inch cakes, a Zoom invite, recipes, and more. Part of the profits from the event will benefit CHOW.
