The Zaga Design Team is growing!

We are a small, collaborative architecture firm looking to recruit an experienced Architectural Associate for our team. The qualified candidate assists in all phases of production, including schematic design, 3D rendering, construction documents, red lines, submitting city permits, tenders and value engineering, as well as construction management. The tasks include:

  • Independently prepare architectural plans and renderings

  • Develop design and technical design solutions for specific project areas and ensure design integrity through design development

  • Responsible for creating presentation materials such as conceptual drawings, 3D renderings and visualizations, and digital 3D and physical models

  • Construction documents

  • Generate revisions and corrections from outline models, redlined drawings and project document sets

  • Construction phases

  • Present solutions in-house and coordinate design intent and documentation with consultants

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the appropriate use of building systems, materials and technologies, and research alternative systems and materials

  • Contact the manufacturers and evaluate and choose materials

  • Develop project specifications

  • Create and review completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations

  • Demonstration and use of knowledge of construction, planning and zone codes related to the project and its design

  • Integrate building performance goals into design solutions and document performance metrics

  • Attend customer meetings to observe the overall process and develop presentation skills

  • Take part in site visits and sightseeing

  • Identify and document conflicts that arise during construction and development, and offer alternatives for solving problems

Years of professional experience required:

Master or Bachelor of Science in Architecture, 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience required. Active license tracking in the state of Colorado. Sustainability accreditation preferred.

Software language skills requirements:

AutoCad, Revit, AdobeSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign

Other software settings:

Lumion and Rhino a plus.
