DENVER (KDVR) – FOX31 newscaster Aristea Brady is stepping down from her desk in late June to focus more on her family. She made the announcement on Monday along with her co-anchor Jeremy Hubbard.

“There is only one force that would get me off a dream job alongside one of the best news teams in the country and that is my family,” said Aristea.

Aristea is from Colorado and was born and raised in Greenwood Village. She joined FOX31 in April 2014. To those working by her side, it seems like we welcomed Aristea to her hometown just a few weeks ago. And she was ready to record Colorado’s greatest stories from the moment she arrived.

Aristea did nothing halfway and helped change the lives of many here. This includes Darin Barton, who stopped by in April 2019 to save people from an inferno on I-70.

She also helped Michael Casey, a Northglenn cellist with a rare disease, get into his dream college. The University of Texas at Austin even gave Casey a scholarship that Aristea presented to him in the spring of 2018.

All of the Coloradans were affected by their presence and helped us stay calm and informed in the most difficult moments of the past few years.

She even made some of her own dreams come true when she got to sing a one-off duet with Garth Brooks.

Above all, however, Aristea fulfilled her dream of growing the family. Her twins Brady and Lexi and her husband Nate will now be the focus of their evenings. “My twins start kindergarten in the fall and, as an evening anchor, night shifts leave little or no overlap with my family. Simply put, I don’t want to miss another bedtime story, ”she said.

During this time, she will also be launching her own lifestyle brand and appearing on FOX31 as a contributor to provide lifestyle content on a regular basis.

“Aristea was part of so many important moments in our church. While we will miss her daily coverage from the Anchor Desk, I am delighted that viewers can still connect with Aristea about her new lifestyle coverage, ”said Byron Grandy, Vice President and General Manager of FOX31.

While Aristea is stepping back from the anchorage, we haven’t heard the last from her – and that’s a good thing.

FOX31 will begin a nationwide search for an anchor to take Aristea’s desk space. Erika Gonzalez will act as an intermediate anchor for FOX31 News starting July at 5:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
