Countless food deliveries and donations have popped up in Denver to thank all of the first responders and health care workers on the front lines during this COVID-19 pandemic. It was only natural that a Dedicated to the same initiative alone, Food Truck would come from the great sense of unity in Denver.

The team behind it Birdcall, Park Burger, Homegrown Tap and Dough, and Gastamo Concepts have donated over 10,000 meals a week through the custom # FuelDenver Food Truck. The purpose of this truck not only fed the frontline workers, but also also created jobs for the struggling hotel industry.

Instead of having all the bells and whistles of a conventional food truck, this #FuelDenver truck is wrapped from wall to wall Boxes of prepared and prepackaged meals. So far the team has worked with three local hospitals – Denver Health, Saint Joseph Hospital, and UC Health Aurora. The list is constantly growing with plans to donate to various other medical centers in the greater Denver area. Though over 10,000 meals are already an enormous achievement. The Fuel Denver Frontlines team is committed to delivering 50,000 meals.

We are focused on delivering nutritious meals prepared with love by Birdcall, Park Burger and Gastamo Concepts to healthcare workers on the front lines of COVID-19. These efforts would not have been possible without a truly special gift from the Tuchman Family Foundation to Denver Health. ” Peter Newlin, Birdcall CEO said.

The Tuchman Family Foundation is a non-profit based in Englewood, Colorado that made a generous donation to make this initiative possible.

After many layoffs due to state-mandated restaurant and bar closings, it was a Glimmer of hope for the restaurant team, which is again working in a commissioner’s kitchen.

“We are here to serve in the only way we know. by going back to the kitchen to create and serve natural foods. # FuelDenver’s primary focus is making sure all heroes on the front lines receive the fuel they need to continue the fight against COVID-19, “Newlin said.

The menu is curated by Recipes that maintain a health-conscious dish and at the same time present well-prepared dishes in an accessible way. The menu of the week includes a Miso sweet potato and Broccoli bowl, Chicken Club Wrap and a Mediterranean salad.

Although Feeding the front line workers is the primary goal. It is of the utmost importance that all team members who prepare and package food remain safe and healthy. The team must follow Security protocols including frequent and thorough hand washing, carrying Gloves and masks at any time, Health and wellness checks Before each shift, use food packaging with airtight seals and practice a non-contact experience when delivering to hospital contacts.

While our community can’t give hugs, welcomed initiatives like the #FuelDenver Food Truck feel very similar.
