Julian Heights is to be built near Cheltenham Elementary School northwest of the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and Julian Street.

The Julian Heights eight-story 56-unit condominium project recently received the go-ahead from the city of Denver.

Julian Heights is to be built near Cheltenham Elementary School northwest of the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and Julian Street. The project is the latest planned for the changing West Colfax neighborhood in Denver.

Denver-based Aussie Developments LLC purchased the property in November 2015 for $ 2.2 million. Studio K2 Architecture designs Julian Heights. The Denver architectural firm didn’t return multiple calls regarding the project.

Julian Heights will include ground floor retail space and units ranging from 420 square foot studios with mezzanines to 1,400 square foot two story condos, according to the K2 website.

West Colfax community leaders encourage community revitalization. The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is slated to open in the neighborhood in May, anchoring the 20-acre area between West Colfax and West 17th Avenue known as Sloans. The development is less than a mile from Julian Heights. The condominiums replace an empty field on which a house once stood.
