HOLLYWOOD, October 26 (UPI) – John Denver was posthumously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Friday.

Born in Henry John Deutschendorf, he died 17 years ago in a plane crash. His son Zak Deutschendorf and his daughter Jesse Belle Denver were present for the unveiling.

Denver has sold more than 33 million albums during his folk music career. He was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2011.

“He was a troubadour,” G. Brown, director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, told Variety. “He was a unique talent. He never sang out of tune. He was a fantastic singer. If you listen to a record like Sunshine on My Shoulder – the string arrangement, his vocal performance. He was just a phenomenal performer.” It can not be denied. “

The honor coincided with the opening of an exhibition of the folk singer’s photographs – Sweet Sweet Life: The Photographic Works of John Denver – at Hollywood’s Substrate Gallery.
