Denver Police found the remains of a missing 24-year-old woman and arrested a suspect in the case.

According to a press release, Jasmin Cigarroa was reported missing on Wednesday after no one had seen or heard from her since Tuesday.

On Thursday, investigators in rural Adams County began a search for her, but it was suspended because of darkness. On Friday morning, investigators found remains in an area near East 26th Avenue and Powhaton Road. The remains are uniquely identified by the Denver doctor’s office.

On Friday afternoon, the police arrested 23-year-old Jonathan Nuno Mijangos on suspicion of first degree murder, according to a press release. An affidavit on the case has been sealed, police said. The suspect has been identified as Cigarroa’s husband.

An investigation is still ongoing. The police describe the case as a domestic violence murder.
