The Nuggets finished the regular season 13-5 in games without the injured star Jamal Murray and still managed to improve their playoff seeding.

Don’t count odds makers as all that’s impressed.

Denver’s chances of taking the title home are listed at +2500 for Betfred, +3000 for DraftKings and +3300 for PointsBet. Below is the likelihood of when the nuggets will be removed from the postseason, according to BetMGM.

Five favorites to win the championship

Brooklyn Networks: The bookmakers are very confident in the chemistry of superstars Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving in the first season. Title chances: +240.

Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both healthy after dealing with injury issues. Bad news for the rest of the league. Title chances: +375

Los Angeles Clippers: The Doc Rivers team is just too talented on paper not to be fighting for a championship. Don’t tell the 2020 nuggets that. Title chances: +600

Philadelphia 76ers: Joel Embiid arguably has the second best MVP resume this season alongside Nikola Jokic. But he missed a long time with a knee injury. Title chances: +750

Utah Jazz: Despite the best regular season record (52-20) in the NBA and probably Rudy Gobert’s defensive player of the year, jazz is not considered the playoff leader. Title chances: +750

Five prop bets to watch

Comeback kings. The Nuggets had a penchant for falling behind on a series last season only to come back and win (see: Jazz, Clippers). Sportsbetting.com sets its odds of +325 for another win in the series against the Trail Blazers.

Long-term. Denver has had four of its five series in seven games in the last two seasons. Could it happen again? Sportsbetting.com provides the four most likely results against the Blazer in at least six games. The favorite is a 4-3 win for the Nuggets (+400), followed by a 4-2 win for the Blazers (+450), a 4-2 win in Denver (+450) and a 4-3 exchange in Portland (+500). .

Clean sweep. The chances of a quick blazers nuggets streak are unlikely. BetMGM has odds of +650 for a winner to advance in just four games. Portland has +1,200 to win in four while Denver has +1,400 to take the win.

Big Honey pours it on. The Nikola Jokic Nuggets Center achieved an average career high of 26.4 points in the regular season. If you bet that he will get the most points in the first round, the wild card is +100. The favorite, however, is Damian Lillard from Portland, who averaged 28.8 points with -125. Looking for a bigger longshot? How about Nuggets striker Michael Porter Jr. with +2,200 or Blazers’ Carmelo Anthony with a whopping +25,000.

There can only be one. The nuggets are a long way to win anything. But if they do, there’s a good chance Jokic will be named the Finals MVP. BetMGM has it with the 14th best odds at +3,500. The favourite? Lakers LeBron James at +450.
