AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)– An investigation is ongoing after racist graffiti was found in the Coyote Hills Elementary School playground. Aurora police released surveillance images of the two teenage suspects on Friday night.
The staff covered up the offensive news before the students arrived on Friday morning.
In a letter to the parents, the school said: “Any speech or behavior that is motivated by hate by students, employees or people in our community that is physically or psychologically harmful to another person will not be tolerated. Anyone who engages in such activities will be held accountable. Our greatest responsibility as a school district is to provide safe and welcoming schools in which students of all races, ethnicities, religions, genders, and sexual orientations feel valued and supported. “
Coyote Hills Elementary is located in the Cherry Creek Schools school district.
